I have absolutely nothing against Commissioner John Price Wiley Price, in fact I Love John and always have. John Price has been a part of my life for close to 40 years .John has been very very good to me and I to him. Commissioner Price first found dislike with me because he did not like the fact that when I had a radio program, I did not cut people off if they said something critical about him. He told me about it after I ask him why he was acting strange towards me, I told him the program was live and I would not cut people off. We sort of made up for a while. I’m not really sure why he found dislike the next time he did not say, I did not ask.
Every Tuesday in Commissioners Court for two solid years Commissioner Price would attack every item I had on the agenda just for the hell of it to make me squirm. I took it because being a Department head you are paid for working and I felt that if one day a week I had to be drilled over routine issues it was part of the job. The hurt was heavy on me because I did not know why someone I cared so much about and had worked so close with and shared so much could turn on me without a reason. At this point I had done nothing that I was aware of to hurt Commissioner Price or if I did I did know what. I went to the Doctor only to be told I was suffering from major depression and put on medicine. I still worked every day. Suffered a Heart attack on the job hospitalized for five days. I did not know at this time I was in renal failure also.
Members of the Commissioners Court would say John and Betty have a love-hate relationship .I was in no position to either hate my Boss or take any action against him. He had a love –hate relationship with me I guess.
People, who knew us, would hear violent arguments on issues in the Community, when I worked in the Commissioners office, me trying to tell him what I though was right after the argument we were just as close and the issue event over. We would go have lunch or dinner.

A new group of people started to hang around Commissioner Price after I left his Office and went out to Human Service and that’s when the Big change came. They did not like the relationship Commissioner Price and I had so they were Hell bent on destroying it and that, they did. I did not know it then, I found out much later.

Commissioner Price has never heard me say or do anything to hurt or harm him. His circle of people tells him all sorts of foolishness about me and he believes them. They make up stories and plant them in him and he falls for them. I think I got mad at John because he believed theses weak fools who only want to use him up, with me out of the way they can. I did not allow them access. There never were two people who made a better Team than John Price and me we hung some Moon’s.

After my near Death health crisis I promised God that I would live for Jesus and make amends to people that I had wronged or offended and ask forgiveness. Commissioner Price was the first person and only person on my list because I could not understand what I did or what they say I did to make him so angry with me. I wrote and ask him to forgive me if I had done something wrong to him, unintentional hurt him or what ever the case please forgive me. I got no response from the Commissioner.

I write this very personal blog so that you, the General Public will understand when I criticize an elected Official It’s the position they hold not them. I am not mad or have any hard feeling towards Commissioner Price. I love John Price and will be at his side when he needs me and all the others are gone.
I have a right to speak out when I feel my elected representative is wrong. I did it in the pass and I do it now.

Today, a radio commentator asks Commissioner Price what he though about my comment on his Jim Crow talk, he asks the man? You talking about the woman, who ran for Office but could not win? That is so funny .All John can say about me is I ran for Office and did not win he loves me and will not say anything bad about me.
John Price and any other person in this City know I train John, Kathy, Rob Allen and a lot of others how to run a campaign. I ran Johns campaign and got him elected.
For the Record:
I ran for school Board to make a point “Get out of Federal Court” after the election we got out. Did I win Hell yes, something that had been going on for 32 years was over.

I ran for City Council same reason make a point “Stop a fraud”. Did I win Hell yes, Scam did not happen.

If Commissioner Price was still talking to me he would never have said anything about Jim Crow because I would have made him remember what it really meant to Black people, he would have still said something about Crow but it would not have been that.
While his paid crony stood there laughing at him make a fool of himself.

If you see my Love one tell him I am sorry and really want to talk with him. I dream about the good times when he would bring his friends to dinner at my home every Sunday after church and fellowship with me and my family .I loved cooking for him.
It’s painful to love someone and they stay mad about Nothing for six years.
Commissioner Price God has me in the Love Mood I hope you will join me.

Making It Clear on Press Conference

I want to make it perfectly clear that I am against Proposition 1 and 2 .
I was invited to the press conference by the Oak Cliff Chamber.I support Mayor Leppert on issues that I believe in. I whole hearted support Councilman Dwain Caraway ,Tenell Atkins and other Council members.
I was offended by the words used by some of the speakers during the press conference.
Comparing the opponents of the hotel to Jim Crow ,rapping about Crow and other words used were inappropriate in my opinion. Other people in the audience were offended also by the sounds they made after a remark was made.
My point is the time is over when you need to use emotional words to influence Black voters.Black Elected Officials need to use the same method Obama used to energize voters.
Mayor Leppert to his credit told them "you do not need to protect me" I can take care of myself. I am just sick of Black people in Leadership acting like clowns to make a point.Our people understand educated statements on issues important to them and their quality of life.
I remember when the convention center hotel was on the table before, and a group of Cows ended up on the site.I also know that as a DFW Board member I voted to build a Airport Hotel against opposition.
I have no problem with the issue. My problem is with Leadership from the Black Community continuing to present issues in a way that touches the emotion of people vs. education on issue to get votes.Obama has shown that if you have something to offer people will follow.Time has passed for emotionally fused words to strike emotions and continue to keep the same out of date Officials in office.

Sick of Perry ! + some Southern Dallas Leaders

I am so sick of Governor Rick Perry that I get a pain in my rear end every time he speaks. I supported this man in the past. What happens to people once they are in elected office? I know so many good people who run and win and then it's as if someone else posses their bodies and do so many odd things.
Rick Perry please stop making a fool of yourself.

I attended the press conference Wednesday in front of Dallas City Hall with Southern sector people against Prop.1 and 2. The people gathered were a good cross section of Oak Cliff people. I was invited by the Oak Cliff Chamber not by the Black Consultants running the show. Kathy Nealy and Willis Johnson. I guess since John Price does not like me Kathy and Willis cannot invite me in my Leadership position to a free press conference. The sad part is I am a Leader in this community by service and not for being paid.
John Price is a Leader for pay, he won one seat and has been there for years .He can not go anywhere else. John leads District 3 on the Commissioners Court, I lead people all over the City and County by appointment of governing bodies not by self appointment. When I ran for Office I did not run to win I ran to make changes and that I did. Price likes to say I only got 35% of the vote in City Council race ,hell I should not have gotten that. I ran against the entire Black establishment and (Price,Nealy,Sampson)with five people in the race and made the run office. I had one staff person and was sick and made the run off, now that's Leadership.
Anyway during the press conference the speakers were so full of bull----. Why do Black Leaders think they need to be Buffoon's at all times. They made comments about Crow and sounded like a group of street thugs rapping about some drug dealer. Crow is spending his money on what he wants and he has that right. I have not heard Mr. Crow say one word about the Southern Sector leadership and all the Elected ones have ask for his financial help from time to time. Please stop acting like Buffoon's you make President Obama look bad.

Something to laugh about

I saw this guy I know driving a older Mercedes Benz and it had stopped on the road and when I notice who it was, I pulled over to see if I could help. When we spoke I ask if it was anything I could do. He went on to say the car had been giving him trouble and I ask why not buy another car? His answer was, I am not financial right now. I then suggested he try a KIA because I had good result from mine and that another friend of ours had purchased on, he turned to me and said,Betty I wouldn't be caught dead driving a KIA, I only drive BENZ. Until that day I had no idea what a big fool he was. He would rather sit on the side of a Highway in a broken down Benz the ride down a highway in a KIA.

I stopped at the Texaco Service station on Hampton at HWY 67 there was a young good looking guy driving a wide body new Lexus we both went to pay at the same time he ask for $5.00 worth of gas on number one. I almost passed out.

Why do we put ourselves in these situations. We need to stop trying to show other people how much we are worth and be ourselves. Got real be who you are,drive what you can afford.

T.O. Owens is a born Leader with talent to match. T.O. has the ability to analyze problems and design solutions that he or anyone else could execute if they had talent.
The Dallas Way does not allow a rich, know it all black guy from who knows were to tell
A white guy in waiting for a head coaching job, his scheme is not working. The Black guy must be a fool to think he has a better brain then an All American white guy who works for another from out of no where very rich and successful guy from someplace down in Arkansas who came to Town and stole the golden goose. With the goose went so did the King of football Honorable Tom Landry. Jerry Jones was marked from that day .The Dallas Way refuse to acknowledge Jerry Jones did not fire Tom Landry. Bum Bright knew selling the Team to Jerry Jones meant a new coach would be hired. It was Bum who should have spoken with Coach Landry and prepared him for the New Owner and his new Coach, only in Dallas are you blamed for something you did’t do.
I knew when channel 8 and the DMN gave a week to print and televise the 20 years of Jerry Jones ownership it was for pressure on Jones to fire his team members who did not fit the Dallas Way. Packman was a fool so he does not count. T.O. was first and Williams had to go. No more ex-offenders or loud mouth rich Black guys , telling a white guy he’s wrong and two other players are playing favorites with the ball and causing the Team to lose, that message might get around give those guys a FLOAT Out of Town. That’s what they called it when they sent most people out of Dallas back in the day. Never mind Tony Romo was throwing interception, fumbling balls, missing hand off and etc. the chemistry in the locker room made him do IT! What will Tony use this season? What will Jason Garrett use this season? Whiten is a very nice guy but he does not have the talent of T.O. and never will. The Dallas Way has kept this City from making progress and moving into the World of Reality. These fifty plus very good guys making Decisions based on their day need to take a rest and allow their Sons to run the Business Community’s affairs. The Frank Sinatra generation is done. The nerve of some paid sports writers to say Jerry is listening because he fired some guys who did not make Tony feel comfortable. Tony Romo, Jason Garrett and Whiten work for a living. We all do. I worked 13 years for an organization that allowed one of it’s own to harass employees at will. None of us allowed that to interfere with our work product. We all knew we must deal with that Fool one day a week so we decided to grin and bear it. So should Tony Romo and Whiten and Garrett.
T.O. had problems maybe he should not have been hired but to say Wade Phillips, Jason Garrett, Tony Romo, Whiten can’t do their jobs because of T.O. is the biggest lie ever been told. Chemistry in the locker room, hell the game is played on the field. I wonder how Troy Aikman played with Michael Irvin’s troubles. How did Roger S. play with Harvey Martin and his problems? Leaders are successful in spite of adversity, that is how Leaders are judged what they show when the Chemistry mix is not good. Anyone can lead when the chemistry is good. I guess President Obama should run for the Hills if the world lived by the Sports theory.

John Price and Defamation Go Togeather !

John Price has spent years defaming people. On his radio programs and in public. He has said things about people that could have been liable. Most people let it slide because of the Community and they just didn't want to get involved in a public fight with Commissioner Price. I believe the line of People would wrap around the Court house of people he has defamed or hurt in his capacity as County Commissioner.
He has spent all these years in Office and nothing has changed but the amount of money in his bank account and property he owns.The man has grown older and meaner yet
we keep electing him to office. The white community still believes he's the man downtown because we continue to elect him.His power is being given by US. We have created this monster and I wonder what and when the people will see it for what it is. It took me a very long time to see and feel it so I understand.
Congresswoman Johnson and County Judge Foster are just the latest in his line of people. He wants to depose them prior to filling his lawsuit because he really wants to know what they really know, he thinks that's the way to go.When he holler call the FBI on him, he knows that some people in the Black community believes he is employed by the FBI so the call goes unanswered. I wonder how could he possible do the things to people that other people have been sent to jail for and not ever face any kind of investigation unless he has connection to FBI or CIA.

DISD asking for 4% more in tax over Tax limit.

Did you know a bill has been filled to give DISD 4% more in property tax revenue over the State limit.I believe it HB 5118 not sure about the number but call your State Representative and ask them to vote No on giving DISD more tax money to waste. The Federal government is giving DISD million more in money so why do they need a property tax limit increase. Vote No!

Rich People Pay Your Tax!

Why in the hell won't the rich people with money pay their tax? I pay mine every month and at the end of the year. President Obama does not need all the head ache you none paying tax people are giving him. When ever I am nominated for anything I go and check to see if I owe any tax,fine lien or anything else that might be a determent to my being appointed or elected.We owe it to the people supporting us to have our business in order.

How could any Black person think a cartoon depicting a Chimpanzee being shot is linked to President Obama?

Why do Black people think that a monkey automatically reference us? I am no monkey and did not come from the animal family. I see nothing racist about the cartoon or stereotypes blacks as monkeys.

President Obama is the best looking President America ever had. John Kennedy is the next best. President Obama has a very well built body and that walk is to die for. The man is handsome, smart, well educated and genius. The Presidents belief for the recovery of this Country gives him a smile and peacefulness of a Saint. I know he’s not but when I try and find a word to describe his appearance all I can think is saintly.

The Presidents affection for his wife and children is genuine it come out all over the place.

How in the hell could Sen. Eric Adams or anyone think this man comes close to being a monkey?
Black people Obama is President of the United States of America. That means he is fair game for all. Public figures do not get to pick and chose what people think or say about them. Lies are told rumors are started and most of the time its nothing. We as a race need to treat President Obama as all other Presidents are, with support when he right and speak out when he’s wrong. The other races of people who helped elect Obama to Office will soon not want to deal with another Black man for national office if every single thing said or done will be called racist. The shoe thrown at President Bush was racist but no one called it.
President Obama has enough to deal with please let us stop playing the race card and work to make this Country better.

Lynn Flint-Shaw Lived and Served her Community.

Good evening my Friend, you did live and serve your Community. Job well done. I think about you each day. I miss your voice, I miss seeing you driving down the street. Thanks for the beautiful book you sent during my illness. Ian misses you,but your direction from day one to him will help him cope. I still can not believe you are gone, I keep thinking you will return from a long trip but I know you won't.Bye

What's the fuss over former Mayor Kilpatrick moving to North Texas? He is welcome here. North Texas is full of Ex-Felons so one more will not hurt us. If Martha Stewart moved here would anyone care. Kwame went to jail for telling a lie about an affair, he is married and most married men lie about their affairs. What he did as an elected Official was wrong. A second chance at life is a God given right.

It's a shame that Bob's family is acting like they have not know that Ms. Hester has been fighting this Hall of Fame battle for years.Everyone who knew Bob knows he died without money.Ms. Hester has been around for years I met her when Bob was released from prison.Dallas Cowboys and Hall of Fame please allow Ms. Hester to proceed with the honor. The note they claim was poorly written hell Bob did not write or spell good , he played football good. There is no money for those fools that Bob helped when he was playing.They think there is money from the Hall of Fame for them. God bless Bob Hayes.

DHA New Leadership Three Big Blunders

Dallas Morning News Editorial Board (The Palin Group) /James Ragland and Others. Hounded the Mayor until he appointed new Leadership to the Dallas Housing Authority Board. Sure have gotten a dozy of new Leadership. The Dallas Morning News Editorial even questions the wisdom of appointing Terdema Ussery but said he should bring the financial wisdom to the organization. First off Terdema is a fine fellow and has moved up in the Maverick organization, he is a contract manager and negotiator. Mr.Ussery works in an environment with little governance and regulatory control.
Mr. Ussery also works with an Owner with never ending money and he does not use HUD money with Federal regulation. The Owner even had his own Federal regulation problems lately. There is a big difference in Public and Private funding.

The new Leadership has already made three big errors:

1, changing the Board members names and pictures in the 2007-2008 Annual report, after being advised by staff not to. The Annual Report covered activities performed under the old Board members and should have reflected that, the new Board will appear in the 2009 Annual report.

2, when interviewing the candidates for the President/CEO position the New Leadership called in the Director of HR a subordinate of the intrim President/CEO who they were interviewing and ask her about his Qualification for the job. The Board did not call any other HR director of the other candidates. How can you ask a subordinate to judge the qualification of her Boss? Maybe they do that in the NBA but not in the real world.

3, Chairman Ussery has named seven people to his advisory committee. All are nice people but none have any knowledge of Public housing and none represent the interest of the Residents. Three are builders/developers one of which has a contractual relationship with DHA which is clearly a conflict, the other a sports and entertainment guy, college chancellor who also has contractual contact with DHA, PR firm owner. Not one person who has contact with the community that they serve. HUD/ Mike Daniels will have a ball with this group if anything they recommend to the Board is done. The new President has already said before one day in the Office she wants to inventory DHA assets.
I would hope she would first want to see first how far the Agency has come with the OIG audits.

I will keep reporting on the updates. Ms Russ does know HUD she worked with the Clinton administration in HUD. I just hope the politicians will not try and run the agency into the ground with a fight over little Mexico. Mr. Ussery will have another conflict with that property since the AAC is in the 200 foot notification of the Little Mexico property.

The Ghost of Ann Lott's still Dancing at DHA.

The Ghost of Ann Lott is in the house at 3939 Hampton Rd. The Ghost continues to influence staff to do things that are wrong and incorrect and makes the public think they are crazy are just corrupt. I think it’s the Ghost. People who are so loyal to a Ghost are a little bit insane, but when it comes to their job one would think they at least cared about themselves or their family.
Ann Lott gave her job away simple truth. Ann Lott and her warriors think I got rid of her.
Nothing could be farther from the truth but I write this to share how misguided people can bring so much pain on themselves and the people or person they want to hurt ends up blessed and not hurt at all. I have served on so many Boards and never had to terminate a Director on any in fact many that are there now are people I helped to hire. Ann Lott was gone when I went to DHA Board, I signed her new 3 year contract /raise and travel does that sound like someone trying to fire her.

Let me share this with you, I served from 2006 until November 2008. When I went on the Board the new Annual report was coming out in February so I was Chair of Board when book was published. The former Board was in report and former Chair. The next book which is for 2007-2008 has Terdema Ursery picture as chair. Now Mr. Ursery came on the Board November 6, 2008 the book had been at the printer since October with my picture and letter from the Chair in it. This staff person went to the trouble to cut me out of the book and did not even have letter from Chair. The Ghost of Ann Lott is powerful and it really does not matter who the Board is of President/ CEO if they do not clean house nothing will change because the evil is deep and in so many of them.
Now here is where the rubber meets the road an Annual report is to provide information to shareholders in your organization. In an effort to not have me in any Annual report these fools have cut an 18 month period from the history of the agency. My signature is on documents going everyplace that DHA does business as Chair how can that be undone?
How silly is it to use a DHA Annual report to hurt a former Chair who you believe fired you beloved President? How foolish is it to print the name of a Compliance Officer who’s been gone from the agency for over a year in the same book. The cost of the information preparation for this book cost over 20,000.00 and professional staff at DHA supervising it. I bring this up because if it’s done to me it will be done again, next time it could be worst. Mine was only a picture and name what if it were a check, voucher, empty apartment unit. Annual report is accurate information for Public use any one wrong item puts the entire report in questions.

The General Council of DHA is leaving to join Ann Lott at her new job that’s a good move they complement each other.

Well so much for Ghost! Next week I will be only talking about Change and working as President Obama ask.

FYI Betty Culbreath is Not a Candidate for Dallas City Council

Thank all of you for your good wishes. However I want to live the remainder of my life care free and happy. Elected officials work hard if they are doing the job correct. I do not want to work hard anymore. Service on the Dallas Housing Authority Board was like going to work every day, only difference I was not paid.

So friends feel good for me that I now know it's alright to just do nothing and have fun.

Also I was interested in service on another Board last year when my term expired on DHA,however Mayor Leppert called me and ask me to stay at DHA until he picked his appointees. I stayed 11 months so now I am available to serve on another Board. My service has nothing to do with anyone running for City Council this has been a year long process. So haters please stop trying to build a case for me not running for Dallas City Council, I do not want to run end of story.I can count from the audience.
I want an RV and some gas money and that's all.

Pastor Mack T. Flemmings ! What a Man ! What a Pastor!

I had the pleasure of attending the Freedom Missionary Baptist Church, Presidential Inaugural Ball Jan. 20, 2009. 6:30 PM in the Fellowship hall next door to the church.
As I entered the building I did not recognize the hallway, it was beautifully decorated with red, white and blue balloons perfectly placed. A large backdrop of the Presidential seal was there so attendees could take pictures. Entering the Ball room I though I was in the Fairmont Hotel. Everything was there, the table covering, table decoration, table souvenirs with Presidential seal. The young Adult ministry did not miss a beat. I attended Clinton inaugural and went to the Arkansas Ball, believe me these young people covered it all, with sit down dinner, DJ and non alcohol champagne. I spoke on the comparison of President Obama’s victory and King David.

Pastor Flemmings and his Sister Judy King had the first dance and others followed. The Ball had an over flow crowd. The Ball was also approved by the Presidential inaugural committee and listed on the Official web site of President Obama inaugural activities. The ball was wonderful and Pastor Flemmings was great to have the idea of hosting the Ball. So many members wanted to witness history and be a past of it so the Pastor accommodated us and the Public was invited. Freedom Missionary Baptist Church will now be listed in the History of the 44th and First Black President.
We also received a Thank You from President Obama for hosting the ball. This was indeed a people’s inaugural.

Thank Pastor Mack T. Flemmings for taking a leap towards change and understanding that joy come from the Lord. The bible says make a joyful noise to the Lord. King David dances and shouted full of joy for the Lord.

Councilwoman Hill On Top of Sack and Save building.

I had an opportunity to speak with Councilwoman Vonciel Hill at City Hall last week.
I was so pleased to get fresh information on a property in District 5 near my home. I have always spoken when I did not approve of an action by an Elected Official and I have also spoken when I have been wrong. I also speak when an Official is doing something good or right. I take my Politics serious and it’s not a game with me.

Councilwoman Hill is working with the owner of the Sack and save property to bring in another anchor tenant. It’s going to be hard to convince a grocer but she is trying. The Councilwoman has also spoke with the owner about the type of business that she does not want in the center. Happy to know progress is being made and the Councilwoman is on top of it.

Dallas County Fine Collection ! What Next?

Dallas County Fine and Fee Collection what will they try next. Someone has a loose screw connection at Dallas County or everyone has been there to long for a new idea. The County first established a central collection office which is done in modern times. The County spent big money on that center and it was going pretty good, until some other County Elected Justice of the Peace wanted their cash flow back in each office. The ego and not being willing to try a new method to collect closed the central pay station. The County went to Warrant Round up. Stevie Wonder could have told them if a man can not pay when he’s out, how in the hell can he pay in Jail. The then went to their property Tax
Collection Lawyer who can’t collect property tax, without going to Court but the County thinks they can collect fines.
Now the County is going to hold up automobile registration until the people pay their fines and fees. Crazies’ thing I ever heard! How do you stop guaranteed money? Who in their right thinking would stop sure money for hopeful money? The fines and fees in Dallas County are too high. The County has turned tickets, Court fines and fees into tax revenue and because they can the fees go up and are just too HIGH. People just cannot pay them.
I have seen long lines in Precinct 1 JP Court Thomas Jones people trying to pay traffic fines, waiting as long as 45 minutes or more on any given day. You see what most people don’t know is the County Budget office does the staffing based on cases and collection so if the budget office does not authorize position you can not hire people. Unlike DISD where they hire people just because they need them. The Dallas County way is better but some times it needs changing based on traffic and time spent helping Clients one person might be easy to help where three more can take up to 30 minutes.

At any rate the County need to cut its losses and as the IRS does send notices and cut the fees and fines in half for people financial enough to pay.

Republican Official Not Helping Texas !

Texas Republican are not helping the Republican Party playing silly Politics. How can the Governor of Texas say, Texas does not need a bailout? How could Congressman Joe Barton say the pending bill is a “big social spending splurge”? I have always respected Joe Barton but now it seems he’s drinking from a little bottle in his breast pocket. Thousands in Texas being laid off, long lines at Texas Workforce centers and these fool are talking as if they do not live in Texas. The State has a surplus but who can spend the money on meat and bread. How much has the State budget been allocated for auto, homeowners and health insurance for working middle class? At least Senator Hutchinson said package worries her.
Professor Weinstein say’s the bill should include more money for transportation and other construction, those two fields limit the job opportunities. Where as Job training creates jobs. Medicaid goes to providers and they spend with other providers and that puts money into circulation and people are kept healthy. Spending is not limited to people going shopping. The bill includes money for Highways, Transit, guide ways and clean water all those include construction.
Education programs have construction built in as well as Pell grant money and special education.

How can this bill be called social splurge, the only near social program is Food stamps and that is a food bill not social, Medicaid is a health expense not Social so just what is Barton talking about in the Social Service category? Funding for the homeless.

Any elected Official from Texas who say’s Texas does not need or want the money is a misguided fool. All Texans pay Federal Tax and we have a right to enjoy the fruit of our Tax as any other State. If our Officials communicate to the President that Texas will not take the money the Official should face impeachment, because he or she is not speaking for me. No one has done a survey asking Texans if they want to refuse the Federal money and give it to another State. Until our will is known Governor Perry should shut the HELL up and Joe Barton put that little bottle up, if that is what has him talking silly.

President Bush ran a larger deficit then any President in modern time and now Republicans have a problem with cost to pull this Country out! What the Hell!

Southern Dallasr JP Offices ?

I had the opportunity to file civil papers it Justice Thomas Jones Court about three years ago and I was very pleased with the outcome. I also have visited the Court on other matters and the office was full of people and most were being helped as fact as possible.
The Court is very busy and the space in which the court is located is very small, people are all in the hallway. The Constable’s office across from the Court is large and seems to a lot of space not being used. I wonder why Commissioner John Price doesn’t fix the problem. Commissioner Price said in the DMN on 1-09-2009 the Court is under staffed,
Well the staffing pattern is approved by the Commissioners Court. Who is to blame? The action inside of the Court is under the jurisdiction of the Judge. In the past year I have ask for a change of venue on my civil matters because of what I felt was some political influence from outside sources. I have visited the JP # 5 office and felt I was treated fairly. I am not sure what the problem is in Judge Jones Court but, for the good of the people I hope every thing turns out ok. John Price took action against Judge Rose over complaints as serious as the charges against Judge Jones. I glade to see him let Judge Jones case run its course in the Court.

Councilwoman Hill The Flag Scarf A Bit Much!

I attended a brief meeting today and overheard some young political type's talking about the Flag scarf Councilwoman Hill wore to the City Council meeting yesterday.They were saying it was a insult to them that it seemed she used this occasion of Officer Smith's death to display her patriotism wearing the scarf.I saw the meeting on TV and listens to her speech. I know she was sincere about the lost of the Office as everyone else is. I notice the big flag scarf and it seemed it was a made for photo opportunity scarf.All people must live with their own decisions in life. If a Council member has done a good job or is doing a good job there is no need to stage TV.

There have been many murders in District 5 during the past two years that Councilwoman Hill has been in Office. One the young Solider shot in the front of his Parents house, she and I must pass there every time we leave home, not one time has she called for O tolerance on crime. Not one time has she called on the residents of District 5 to help stop the crime. I want to help but I have no Leader and as Obama says there is only one Councilwoman in Office at a time.

George Bush My Friend !

The Bush family are friends of mine. I met the younger Bush when I volunteered for his father back in the day for U.S. Senator. They are really nice people. Barbara Bush is the best. I never got to really know Laura only saw her a few times but she seems nice. I have disagreed with most of Georges policies on the war, deregulation
and some other things. I am sure happy he got the Medicare prescription bill passed sure saves me and other Seniors a lot of money.President Bush did a lot of other good things that most people don't know or don't care about. Bush had more Blacks in his administrator then any other President in the History of this Country. I welcome him home and wish him well. I know his heart was in the right place even if the outcome was wrong. Bush believed in the American dream and tried to make it possible for all American to own their home, not realizing people would take advantage of the situation. Just maybe his big mistake was trusting others to much. Maybe he and I will walk again in the Martin Luther King Jr. day parade like we did before he was ever Elected to Public Office.

I Take My Politics Very Serious !

I take my Politics very serious, always have. When I speak about an issue that involves Elected Official it has nothing to do with the person, its about the position and job. Politics are not personal with me. When a person run for Public Office or allow him/her to be appointed to public office criticism and comment comes with the territory. I like most of the people who hold Public Office some better then others, I respect the job and position that each hold . I lived in North Dallas most of my life, live in the Southern sector past 21 years. I speak about where I live mostly unless I have an opinion on a issue of City Wide importance.Please stop rolling your eyes when you see me, I still love you I just disagree with your position on certain issues. When the issue is over the disagreement is over.

DMN/ Sometimes Sound Like the Palin Group !

DMN Editorial staff sounds like the Palin group on some days. Jan.9, 2009 the Palin group blamed drug users, Southern sector neglect, drug sellers, landlords, video-porn, and City Leaders for Senior Cpl. Norman Smiths death.

The Palin group first wrote that the death was a preventable tragedy and drug users share the blame in the Officers death. The second opinion was every other person is to blame.

The Palin group went far enough to say Mayor Pro Tem Elba Garcia took a donation from the property owner. Then the Palin group said that goes to the root of the problem Council members complain vigorously about the need to clean up their Southern Dallas district taking donations that the Palin Group says don’t add up. The Palin group said Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Dwain Caraway accepted $2,000 from a video-porn dealer and his wife in 2007. Last I checked there are not video-porn operations in the Southern sector or District 4. The one being proposed was in District 8 and the Council Atkins stopped that. Then they question Ms. Garcia board appointment.

First, the person responsible for the death of Officer Smith is the shooter, preventable yes, however I believe in the Bible and predestination on when my time will end. I also believe it will not end until God calls my number.

Officer Smith was an angle I remember when my son first traveled into South Dallas trying to but crack, he was just getting started into his addiction, and Officer Smith saw him in his Corvette, suit and tie in the wrong area and chased him out of there. Each time Officer Smith saw him he tried to talk with my son and explain why he did not need to be there but my son did not listen. So my love for Office Smith started before his death, he tried to save my child. I also knew and worked with his wife Regina a lovely human being.

Second, the residents are responsible to call 911 when they know illegal activity is on-going next to them. The residents allow illegal activity to occur and say nothing and when ask by police the decline to answer. The on site management is to blame for not evicting tenants who violate policy. Many owners do not know what is going on and depend on site manager to report activity. I have no history on Stolarski but I trust what the Palin group says about him. If some tenants are on Section 8 as the New stated the property is inspected before move in and again each year code violations would not be allowed.
There is no new housing being built in Southern Dallas for low income people, that is the main reason older type apartments remain viable and criminals take advantage of them.
Brian Potashnik came into town trying to correct the situation and was attack by a vicious group of greedy elected Officials and now the building has stopped. The old property owners know the people have no place to live so they continue to make money from the older properties. The same type of condition exists in East Dallas.

Third, Public Officials and residents are to blame for not making a statement about their dislike for the activity and taking a public stand against it. Council woman Hill with her American flag scarf draped around her neck on Wednesday making a speech from City Hall did little to let the people in District 5 know that she would not tolerate the criminal element any more. Photo ops are not what we need. A stand against dope and crime is what we need lead by the Council, Police Chief, Sherriff, Constables, FBI, DEA and all other law enforcement agencies. The public need to say we are not taking it any more and that silly cry of racism when you are stopped in the neighborhood will fall on deaf ears. I will support as Ross Perot said one time a door to door search to ride our community of dope and guns and any other criminal activity.

I do agree with the Sara Palin group City Hall, manager and Council need to give Chief Kunkle the authority” by any means necessary” to clean up this City . In the area of most need. If America can fight for the rights of people in Iraq then it can help Dallas fight for the rights of its citizens. Officer Smith was fighting each day in his own way to save a community for its people. The City Council should take up his fight and clean this City up and let ever one know Dallas has O tolerance on Crime.

Dallas Is About the Money! Ron Kirk Please Be Kind To Obama!

Ron Kirk please be kind to President Obama. President Obama might be the smartest man on earth but he has never lived or worked in Dallas, Texas. I worked Chicago during Harold Washington for Mayor campaign. I had never seen anything like it, the Union involvement the seriousness of it all. In Chicago it's a life or death situation and everyone knows it and no one plays around with the campaign or the election process.
In Dallas it's all about the money nothing is life or death. People don't matter, kids education ,old people, homeless, housing, streets ,floods none of that matters to Dallas Politicians it's all about the money.
I hope what I believed about President-Elect Obama being about the people remains true.
I had high hopes for Obama someone who was really about the people. One of the main reasons I supported Laura Miller was she was about the people and doing some good for the people. I think one of the reasons she got out of Politics was she learned the hard way that it was all about the money and nobody wanted anything to change because it would mess with the wealth and the money.

After all these years volunteering in public service ,I finally learned its all about the money. How could I have been such a fool? I had no idea people were being paid for the type of work and service I was giving. I knew my phone ring all times of night and day with people needing help with some problem or just information about how to navigate the system. Well I learned in November 2008 it's all about the money. I am not motivated by money nor am I greedy I don't fit in with this new group. Thank God I don't.

I also found out why the DMN editorial Board tries to make me sound so bad, why didn't someone tell me that when I met with them I was to be intimidated and not speak my mind. Somehow the DMN editorial board has forgotten I held professional jobs in Dallas for the last 40 years with an earned degree, managed people, money,grants . First Director of the Nacogodoches Housing Authority and grew Dallas County Housing from 27 vouchers to over 4000 without any HUD audit.DMN and WFAA archives hold the stories of my life and work from the Community Council of Greater Dallas to Parkland Memorial Hospital where I was the first Black Director of admission of a 750 bed hospital in North Texas that was in 1979. So I have nothing to hide I have worked all my life and held volunteer job during the same time. I feel good about my jobs and work, just sorry it took so long for me to know the truth
about the money.Maybe I would be living on Houston Street at Victory Place!

Jerry Jones Love : Is The Problem/w Cowboys!

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is the problem with his team. Jerry loves his team too much. Mr. Jones is in love with his Franchise. He loves it more then he loves himself. In Dallas with this new age group of Players that makes for a bad combination. Dallas Cowboys have had every type of Coach and still not wins. They have every Star player in the league. If money could fix the problem, Dallas would be on the way to Super Bowl.

Jerry Jones love for his organization is killing it. I almost loved my Son to death and not until I applied tough love did anything change. Jerry Jones need to try tough love with his Organization, first replace Calvin Hill and his wife who have no program to deal with the Adam Jones of the world. Calvin is an ex player living through the eyes of the players. Second: signing bonus for Player who might play good, players who are put off of other Teams with no place to go, why a signing bonus, he should hold their first paycheck until they prove their ability to work and live in a free world with rules.

Football players are employees and should be treated as such, Tony Romo’s statement after the game sounded like a high school boy. Tony must realize he is being paid to play ball it should be the most important thing to him on a day he did not earn his pay. If Jerry Jones would deduct $10,000 per interception per game I think Tony would feel different.

If the Cowboys are to having a winning Season Jerry Jones and Party must stop treating Players like family and Friends and treat them as paid employees. Coach Phillips has the correct attitude, he teaches them what to do, they are paid to execute and when they don’t it’s the players fault. Coach Phillips can not teach and play the game for them. Jason Garrett was another love of the Organization mistake Jerry Jones made, he loves Jason for the Team and in his heart believes this guy will become great someday and serve the Team well. In the mean time he’s looking for another job and not so great. Some reporters said the Team looked confused on the field, how can anyone person stops 11 men from being confused? The confusion is with in the Teams mentality, little racism, jealous and not connecting as a Team.

Jerry Jones I like and respect you as a Business man and community Leader. Please step away from the Players stop thinking family and start treating them as employees quick. They are not responding to the money it only makes them lazy, try deduction as reason to show up for work ready to work. Every morning Jerry goes to work and works why does he not demand that same work ethics from his employees. Try it Jerry it works. We will go to Super Bowl with a little tough love from the Owner/GM.

City Council Woman Hill Fired Again? So I'm told

I received an email today saying that Dallas City Council Member Vonciel Hill had been fired from her Pastoral duties at the Methodist Church in Italy, Texas. The email said she attempted to attend the meeting of the Board as they discussed her employment but was ask to leave. From what I was told an ugly situation developed.

I knew she had too much going on as a full time Minister and full time Law practice when she ran for City Council. The information from City Hall is her office is always empty; she pops in on Committee meeting just long enough to be counted present leaves and never return.

Ms. Hill ran for Council for revenge after being fired from the Municipal Court Judgeship, somehow she prefers to say retired from City of Dallas, however when she was not reappointed as Judge her employment ended.

I also could not understand why doing the last election Judge, Pastor Hill did not list her last job with Dallas County on her information. Judge, Pastor Hill worked for the Dallas County District Judges for a while until they also fired her. Truth and Honesty should come easy from a person of the Ministry.

City Council District 5 has suffered since Ms. Hill’s election. I am not going to run for Council in 2009, but I will continue to live in the District and every negative that affects the District effects me. I want a new Council Person who has time to dedicate their time and attention to the District and earn the $37,000.00 paid by tax money. It’s not personal with me it’s about business and the health of my neighborhood and community. I can see decline in my area just from lack of attention and the Councilwoman lives a half block from me so I know she sees it.
Ms. Hill is a nice lady just not up to all the task at hand. The only job she has that people are holding her accountable to, is the Church, the voters don't know and she will not fire herself from law practice. Just maybe not having to travel to Italy will give her more time for City Council. I'm not sure how happy a Minister is without a Church.

My Dear Friends ,I'm so sorry I gave you a scare. I have been looking for a house in another City. I love where I live and really hate to move. I can not continue to pay Tax in a School District that does not care about the people who pay the bills. I tried not paying them in protest and boy did I pay dearly for that.

I love this City so much , when things go wrong I take it personal.That affects my health. Please don't tell me ignore it, I have tried and I can't. If I move I think my worry about everything in Dallas will stop. I can read the small town five page News Paper , visit a Bank where all employee know your name, come to Town once a month shop and return home to my fishing pond.

I have known for years about the Dallas Way, but somehow in the past few years it has become so FAKE. I can tell one person something and when it ends I will have talked with seven different folks and not know it. It's almost like a soap opera, it never ends the actors just change positions and conduct business as usual.

Thank those of you who called because you care about me. My friend, Lynn Flint Shaw is dead.It's like she never lived in this City.I will never see her again.My heart is broken that she was murdered and a couple is wiped out because of the political climate in this City.

I was born at the corner of Maple and Oak Lawn in the now closed Parkland hospital. I can remember what the place looked like, from the years after my birth when I went to visit other sick relatives. You see Blacks could only go to one hospital in Dallas until the Catholic church started admitting us to St Paul.
Blacks were housed in the basement of Parkland regardless to their illness, so I was as a new born in the basement with all the other Black folks. Thank God times changed and I became the first Black Director of Admission of a 750 bed hospital in North Texas,Parkland Hospital on Harry Hines, later I was appointed to serve on the Board of Managers for the Hospital. My how times change.

My point, Oh Dallas How can I , want to leave you after 67 years of loving you and working for you. How good you have been to me and my family. Dallas today is not the Dallas I enjoyed so much growing up fussing with people on different subjects and winning some and losing many , at days end we went to the store, bar, restaurant or park had a drink soft or alcohol and laughed until we all went home to start a new day and another argument. None of it lasted, no hard feelings time never came that you were mad because someone had a different opinion. In Dallas today you can not express your opinion unless you offend someone. People have taken others right to have freedom of speech, if its not what they want to hear.

John Price has taken Judge Fosters right to be an American, how then does John Price think he should have the right. Jack Lowe has taken the right of DISD taxpayers that elected him to office for his right to make money from the District. The DISD Board has taken the right of the District 5 taxpayers when they refuse to treat Carla Ranger as an equal, she speaks for us, our voices are not being heard the way she is being treated. The Dallas City Council does not work for me because the other member think only Vonciel Hill represents me and that is just not true.We have trash in a yard for five days in Councilwoman Hill neighborhood. I called her office she was out of Town on City business trash is still there seven days later.

Dallas County Commissioners Court think only John Price speaks for me nothing could be farther from the truth.

Lynn Flint Shaw was murdered and not one word has been said about honoring her service to Dallas, the Arts,DART,Parkland and many others. I have started along with Carl to do something in her honor so people of Dallas will know she lived and her son will know she is not forgotten.

I started looking for a house a few days ago, I'm ready to leave Dallas it's to hard for me to look at all that is going on and not get involved. God knows I want to stay out of it, but when I see injustice being done I just speak and I cannot help it.So I must move on from the home and City of my birth. I wonder will I be able to read a news paper, see TV news and just not respond in my new City? Or will I think about Dallas from afar?

DISD Board Trustee Ron Price.

Ron Price broke the State rule when he did not vote on the RIF plan. He lied when he gave that lame excuse about being able to reconsider on another day, you must vote to have a reconsideration right. Bless his heart he needs to stay quiet and just say nothing it a lot better the a lie.
The DISD Trustees all but Carla Ranger think the Public is as dumb as they are.They tell the crazies stories about what they do, as Judge Judy says " If It Don't make sense it's a lie.

McCain Ain't ABLE

Poor John McCain I feel sorry for him about now. His campaign staff is doing him no justice. The staff should be fired, they have no real strategy it's shot from the hip
with anything and now the crazies are going wild with this hate stuff and McCain can not stop it. McCain is a little crazy but he is not as dirty as they are making him.
Sara Palin on the other hand thinks you should do any thing with you position of Power she reminds me of Commissioner John Wiley Price of today, he was not like that in the beginning.Palin however has been that way from day one.
I will vote for Obama because we will get a President for the first time since Jimmy Carter who really believes in the People, also I do not want Mr. Palin sitting in the Senate seat and voting to break a tie. Mr. Palin reminds me of a "keep her pregnant and barefoot" type who beats his wife if she has a mind of her own. The 17 year old always seems to have the baby, why don't they have a sitter on the road with them and stop making that young lady hold the baby.I have never seen Mr. Palin holding the baby.
This latest round of talking about Wright,Ayers and the other fellow is just silly it only serves to add hate and fear to America's less educated folk and they seem to be the type to shot and kill with ease. The people are serious who yelled kill him about Obama I hope the Secret Service is on double duty around him.

Oh Well! Oh Well! What Is Next? DISD

DISD is so silly I could not bring myself to write on my own Blog. First this new Finance Director wants to break the law by supplanting Government funds to pay for positions that are paid from the General Fund budget. If he had known any thing about federal grant money he would know that is a violation of the law. Hinojosa hired him what a fool. The amount of money DISD receives from grants ,Dr.H should have known to hire a person with some grant experience. The man meant well , he just did not know the rules but someone at DISD should have told him instead they allowed him to make a fool of himself going to Austin asking permission to break the law.
Edwin Flores is another one, why does this man think the tax payers are stupid? He proposed a ethic policy that does the same thing the Board does now only difference it's in writing. What a fool. Dr.H is firing all the Teachers but to date none of his
500 or so management staff has been fired. DISD does not know how many employees it has. Ms. Olson was supposed to be great but it seems that the wavier for her to remain in Tarrant County and work in Dallas did not serve DISD well , as HR Director she should have known there were to many employees for the budget, then again she knew nothing about State funding/staffing policy she only new military and DISD is not the army far from it. Dr. H is a disaster and his staff is also. They don't know their heads from a hole in the ground. The kind of mistakes they make are just incompetent. DISD knew from day one the numbers did not fit the staffing requirement to receive the money they needed, that's the reason they went door to door looking for students. Poor Mayor Leppert he had so wanted the DISD to improve. Dr. H was not even honest with him. Please Mayor Leppert do not trust that group again. The DISD has been run like this for a while it was hid better in the past. They have bad bookkeeping because it's harder to catch wast and thief in that system. I remember oh so well when the Finance Director from DFW went over to DISD she did not last long she ask to many question and wanted to change things they soon got rid of her.DISD is like mold it keeps growing and growing and poison every thing in its path. The only fix for Mold is tear the whole inside down and start over. That is the only thing that will cure DISD of their Mold problem. Carla Ranger is the only member of the Board working for student and taxpayers.

John McCain How Could You ?

Poor John McCain! The choice of Palin for his VP pick is so off course it’s scary. How could anyone think this selection would pull women voters? Women have come so far and for a man running for President to think all we wanted was a woman on the ballot is out right crazy. Any Republican voting for John McCain should know by now the man is out of his mind.
Look at the woman he picked: Mother of five children: when will this woman have time to be a mother? The Vice President is very different from having a job. A mother with a very young sick child needs his mother. This woman owes it to her family to be there. We read in the bible a mothers role and the Republicans or big on family but its OK to take this family and separate them for Politics? WWGD. Why would this woman want this? The woman does not even stand for the issues Hillary Clinton stood for. How can McCain be that dumb. I am sure having worked for political campaigns before, his people told him this was a bad deal, he simply did not listen and now look at what is happening and this is just two days into the convention. This woman has five children the tax payers do not support the kids, just the VP. The woman has never seen a City big as Dallas how could she even imagine granting DFW 34 million dollars? The woman knows nothing about Public Health, transportation, Human Service anything about just plain basic service. The woman only supports abstinence education for teenagers, yet she does not practice it in her own home. The woman made her daughter care for the baby while she and her husband took to the stage, that’s their baby not the daughters. Maybe the girl saw how much she had to care for her smaller siblings she wanted a child of her own or the mother was away from home so much being Governor she was neglected. What ever the case she is wrong for such an important role because she is a woman. Just any woman will not do, and certainly not at the expense of the most important thing we have in our lives, our children.

Would someone please tell Ms. McCain she is attending a poor people convention take a tip from Ms. Bush leave you diamonds and silk clothes at home. On stage together they

Why Does The Dallas News Fear Me ?

Why Does the Dallas Morning News Want Me Gone?

I have been around Dallas Politics a very long time, this is my first time in an environment where the Agency hold the key to creative financing with out side for profit and non profit businesses’ I cannot say which one is worst, but at least in a for profit environment the people seem to speak with truth and not hide the profit margin. The non profit group enjoys the privilege of not paying tax on their profit and has a hard time explaining how they are not making a profit.
When ask to join the Dallas Housing Authority Board by Mayor Laura Miller I had not earthly idea what I had said yes to! I imagined going to a place much like Parkland or DFW Airport with professional staff, self confident and knew where they wanted the Agency to go. Jeff Fegan when hired wanted DFW to become the Best Airport in the World and operate like a business and had a plan. Ron Anderson at Parkland Hospital wanted the Best Health care a sick person could receive regardless of income and had plan to achieve. Ann Lott on the other hand wanted better housing for Dallas residents but no plan. I am not sure when it started but there is a ghost within DHA that spooks the employees; they think someone has a conspiracy against them. If it’s not their way it’s the conspiracy theory.
There are so many deals between DHA and so many other groups most are non profit
Some or for profit. Once upon a time someone learned they could form other non profit
Under the umbrella agency that could do every thing the Federal Government said you could not do under original code. The General Council forms these when ask by the President/CEO. If for profit or non profit wants to do a tax credit deal or bond deal. The Board does not approve these when the Board knows anything the documents for the Deal or on the table to be signed.
On September 24, 1992 the Board approved by-law giving the President /CEO control of the Housing Authority of the City of Dallas. Texas. There is no document that directs President/CEO to have all such items approved by the Board.

Now for years the DHA has run under this type of Organizational structure and not one word from the Mayor, City Council, Dallas Morning News, or ant other body within the City of Dallas. Mayor Kirk and Laura Miller never filed all their positions on the Board
But not one word from the only Daily news in the City that has a responsibility to the general public. The Dallas News now finds it their sworn duty to keep the Public informed about DHA and to pressure Mayor Leppert into changing the five members Board even with too position not expired. First I could not figure it out, but I knew it would come to me. One group who wants the Little Mexico property they want to but the property and think the Board is the problem, not true this Board wants to leverage that
Property and will maximize its value. The number of new units that could be built on cheaper property is endless. Low to moderate income housing is number one on every list that has been published in Dallas for the last 25 years. The other group wants some of the land in the West Dallas Trinity river project. Second group
Wants land owned by the Authority in West Dallas Trinity project.
Third group and big and bad with many church folks supporting them
Is Central Dallas Ministries, this group has some sweetheart deals with Dallas Housing Authority, some good others not so good. The deal that caused Central Dallas Ministries to start their campaign against the Board and it’s really not the Board as much as it’s me.
Dallas Housing owns land on Hall street corner of Central Expressway very valuable 12 to14 million dollars. Central Dallas wants to build 180 apartment units to rent at market rate and give DHA 55 units of affordable housing, one problem CDM wants to hire the contractor and all other parties without going out for bid. CDM also would like to collect a development fee. Remember CDM has no money in this deal at all.
Can someone tell me how you get to the table with no money acquire the right to develop a 30 million dollar project, hire all components? Manage the property collect the rent deposit in your bank account, paid a development fee of around $400,000.00 and you came to the table empty handed. Every person among us would be rich with that deal. When CDM got the word of the Board concern they went on the attack. DMN allowed Gerald Britt a CDM staffer to write a four column article last week that did not note he had a conflict. This past week James Ragland wrote about Ann Lott’s sick leave pay and how the pay was not Ann Lott’s faults it was the Boards fault because of the policy. The DMN wanted so bad for it to be the present Boards fault. Well the policy was written by a Board of five white business men with a white Director 28 years ago. If the News is Ms. Lott did not like it why did they wait until now. Al Jackson, Laura Moon and Ann Lott were paid under the same policy.
Next week the DMN will run an article on why the Housing Authority office should move downtown so the one on Hampton can be used as the Bridge information center.

I never knew I controlled that much power or money that it took Belo and the Dallas Morning News to fight my serving on a free Board. I had much more control at DFW but I guess at DHA more home grown people get a big part of the Federal money with little or no oversight. $130 million dollar annual budget going into the local economy and provides a great deal to the Dallas Community. $11 million in rental payment alone.
I will never stand in the way of Dallas. I will stand in the way of people who use every loop hole in the system to fill their own pockets in the name of the poor. Federal dollars are all our dollars; we pay income tax on our earnings. I pay income tax on my Social Security and retirement. I paid SS and tax on my earnings while I worked so I am paying twice. I want everyone to play by the rule, I have no monetary interest in DHA or anyone doing business with DHA to it’s a level playing field for me. We have one of the Best Boards in America no hidden agenda and we do ask questions of staff. There are a lot of things needed at DHA given a little more time they will be done.
If Mayor Leper is pressured into replacing the Board their learning curve will surely take time and development of Rhodes and Turner will be delayed.
I finally get it when you have too much integrity for Free Public Service the World is in a sad state. In the long run people circumventing the government process will come back to bite. I am one who does not want the FBI bug to bite me. It’s not morally right.
I will pray for Mayor Leppert he has a big job and he really wants what is right for Dallas
His agenda is the same as mine “what is good for Dallas” I only God to answer, he has God and the Public.

$ 5 million to ATT ? $ 2 Million from Woodard ?

What City in its right mind gives one Company (AT&T) $5 million to move downtown and take $2 million from another (Woodard Company) to leave downtown after 80 years in same location? 14-1 was bad for Dallas then and August 13, 2008 vote reinforced why it's Bad now.

The Constitution of the United States of American was written to protect the rights of the People. The Dallas City Council lead by Councilwoman Angela Hunt (in my district)voted to deny Woodard Paint & Body Shop a Special Use permit to continue to operate their business as they have for eighty years. The multi million dollar a year business own their land pay sales tax,property tax,employ PEOPLE and provides a valuable service downtown. The City has put a very good business out of business. Why would anyone want to invest in opening a new business in Dallas when ,with the whim of a few people can close your business down. The one thing that makes this worst is Mr. Woodard sold property to Dave Fox to build Bryan Place and the first people who moved in got County tax assistance for down payments on their homes. One of the main reasons Dallas is behind Houston and Atlanta is this very type of action. Neither of these Cities would have voted to close a thriving 80 year old business, there mentality is, they were first , new people learn how to get along with them. Only Dallas wants to throw out all the Old to bring on the new.Soon Dallas will pass an Ordinance to make people over 65 move from single family residential District to Assisted Living zoned district because one day they will need assistance. The Woodard land will set there empty with no sales tax revenue for years just as the Fishburn cleaners building did. Sad Day For The Constitution.

County Judge John Price

Stevie Wonder knows John Price is the County Judge, the sad part is he is not in the correct position on the Court. Price certainly deserves the Judge position but cannot win it Countywide. Judge Price has the knowledge to run the County and is smart enough to get things done. I would vote for him for County Judge. The only problem with Judge Price in my opinion is his vindictiveness towards people who disagree with him.In my opinion he uses his position to retaliate against them. The issue can be anything, having nothing to do with the County and he will try and harm you ,it last for years. I don't want to think he's evil because he has a good heart , but he takes disagreement as heartbreak and the pain that follows is brutal.
I am happy that Judge Price is on the job because the County needs his Leadership more now then it ever has.Allen Clemson has announced his retirement, I sure like Allen and enjoyed 21 years of working with him he is brilliant and has good temperament .

City Budget/ Think Out of Box

I cannot understand why the City employees know nothing but Close to correct budget short fall. First of all the small amount of money saved does not make a dent in the budget.The two City pay stations generate revenue plus serve a need in ares that people need the most. The City could add a small collection fee or they could ask the Utility companies to pick up the extra cost. The could add check cashing or Lottery tickets sales to the pay station. There are so many more thing they could do.
The Community Courts could accept fine payments at the pay station and cut the line down at the Harwood street address. Please City Staff try and do something other then Close.

Two Great Entertainers Gone In One Week !

Issac Hayes I grew up on. I did not miss him in Concert. GONE. Bernie Mack I loved him he had that down to earth kind of humor and made you feel like family. I will miss these great men and their contribution to our Country. Many Prayers to their families.

Thanks Sharon, I am so accustom to being misunderstood and talked about it seems common place. I felt so good reading someone take up for me. I try so hard to serve my Community and be honest. People have been using old methods /racism and etc.to misinform voters and hard working residents ,it becomes hard for them to know the truth. I try to advise them of what is Truth from Fiction. I stay in hot water because of it. Again Thank you for your time and commitment to speaking the truth
about issues. Real people need to hear what is real from people that have noting to gain from the misinformation.

John Edwards Say No More !

I hope that John Edward says no more. First he is not an Elected Official and the fact that he had an affair does not bother me, I believe most men do. The fact that the affair took place during a time his wife needed him the most is what I find distasteful. In his weak moment he said he made a mistake in judgement, how do you make a mistake in judgement when your Loved one is fighting for her life. We all know
he and the woman made that DNA story up together. He would publicly say he would take one ,when ask she would say no. Oldest game in Town. What makes this story silly is he is still seeing this woman. Nothing wrong with that ,if they are just friends, why run out in the middle of night from hotel? John please give it a rest.

Hillary Clinton Is Still In Race !

I told everyone who would listen that Hillary Clinton was not out of the race when she closed her campaign. That story about keeping her Delegates so she could raise money was all a lie. Hillary and Bill Clinton have been busy behind the scene lobbing Delegates and counting numbers so she can take the nomination from Obama.
Hillary has talked Obama into asking for the Florida and Michigan delegates to be seated and counted. That would give Hillary the numbers she need and all they must do is change some Super Delegates votes and Hillary will have the numbers.I hope Obama 's people know this, they are smart but I hope they can deal with Crooked Clinton's. Hillary will be nominated from the floor her reason is "My people need to be a part of the process and heard" big lie . They can be heard saying Hillary delegate switching to Obama if they just want to have a voice in the process. Hillary Clinton for her own sake will tear up the Democratic Convention and John McCain will become the President. All you die heart Clinton backers should see just what kind of people they really are, FOR SELF ONLY. Obama should take them off campaign trail because they are only promoting themselves.

Ross Will Never Be Changed !

I hope the people wanting a Name change for their Hero will get one. However I am a life time resident of Dallas , Texas and there is a certain way about "The Dallas Way". Dallas people think and react different about things. No real Dallas people are against naming a street after Mr. Chavez. Hispanics can say racism all they want but its not about race, its about the Dallas Way. I though Pauline Medrano would have shared with them the Dallas Way of doing things , because she was taught by one of the Best, her Father. Papa Medrano would have had the votes and research done,
business owners name on paper and street signs made when he went to City Hall.

The City and Patrons of the Arts have put Millions into Ross Avenue because of its rich history of wealth and support of cultural events in the past. For that reason Ross Avenue will not change. Someone with the mind of Papa Medrano should step forward and pick a street with a chance of changing such as Live Oak and move forward. A fight about Ross Avenue will not get what they want, it will get them nothing.
As my friend Rufus Shaw would say, that is my opinion from the Southwest part of Oak Cliff, Texas.
